Byron Bay | Australia Adventure
Nov. 3, 2016
When I told people in New Zealand that I was heading to Australia next, most of them said something to the effect of "I heard it's going to get up to like 30 in Brisbane this week!"
"Oh, really?" I'd say, trying to quickly convert to Fahrenheit in my head. November is the beginning of Australia's summer, and Queensland was hot—it turns out 30 Celcius converts to about 86 Fahrenheit. I've lived in Florida my whole life, so I felt right at home in the scalding sun.
After a few days catching up on work and hanging out at my cousin's house in Brisbane, I borrowed her husband's car and drove out to Byron Bay. Things I came back with: a hat, lots of pictures of random surfers, a belly full of ice cream, a sunburn.
